Anzelle Robertson appointed Head of Strategy at World Telemedia to drive global expansion

World Telemedia (WT), the leading media and events platform for mobile commerce and payment innovation, has appointed Anzelle Robertson as its new Head of Strategy. Robertson will work closely with the directors / co-founders; Jarvis Todd, Annika Micheli, Geraldine O’Sullivan and Editor in Chief, Paul Skeldon, to usher in a new era for the business.

Building on WT’s reputation as the go-to platform for mobile commerce, Robertson and the existing WT team have spent many productive hours aligning a strategy that preserves the company’s DNA and dedicated industry focus, strengthening its digital footprint and expanding the event portfolio into new markets.

Together, they will deepen WT’s role as a strategic partner to the industry. This includes closer collaboration with mobile operators, regulators and digital service providers; increased regional relevance via partnerships in Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia; and a renewed commitment to carrier billing, mobile money, mobile content, online advertising, and payment innovation.

World Telemedia will continue to be underpinned by the “relationship-first” spirit that it has nurtured for well over 30 years and will broaden its offering with more content-led conference tracks, audience-responsive agendas, tailored B2B matchmaking and enhanced digital tools – including newsfeeds, directories, sales support and knowledge-sharing platforms).

The goal is simple: to enable the telemedia community to build, develop and grow in the markets that really matter, with the bespoke support to help both businesses, and the industry at large, in achieving full commercial potential.

Jarvis Todd, Managing Director, World Telemedia, says of the move: “As of 1 September, Anzelle Robertson joins us as Head of Strategy. This is a pivotal moment for our industry, and it’s time for us to evolve. Anzelle brings a rare combination of deep industry experience, a client-side perspective and a clear vision for the future. Her leadership will ensure we not only protect our ‘relationship-first’ legacy but also confidently expand into new areas that will support our community’s growth. We’ll be sharing more about what’s changing, and what’s staying the same, in an upcoming interview. Stay tuned.”

Anzelle Robertson, Head of Strategy, World Telemedia, adds: “From 1 September, I’ll be stepping into the role of Head of Strategy at World Telemedia. After spending time with Jarvis Todd and the team, it became clear that this is more than a media and events company: it is a platform and a community with history and resilience, but also with huge untapped potential. I’m excited to bring structure, experience and a unique “client-side” perspective to what is already working, and to help build out new ideas: from expanded market presence to curated event programming, to closer industry partnerships.”

She continues: “This is a space I understand and really care about: carrier billing, mobile money, content monetisation, online advertising – and I’m looking forward to being in a position to support an industry that I love and to make a tangible difference in helping it shape an exciting and successful future. More to come in an upcoming conversation with Jarvis.”

For over 30 years, World Telemedia has been the leading global platform for the mobile commerce, carrier billing, and digital content industries. Through its trusted media and events, the company provides essential resources and networking opportunities that help businesses connect, collaborate, and grow.
